  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

    ECFE is for everyone! The mission of ECFE is to strengthen families and support the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children. Parents are supported through resources and guidance in the development of their child and family, and children birth to kindergarten entrance are exposed to new experiences through purposeful interactions and process oriented learning in our indoor and outdoor classrooms! Discounts available for more than one child in the same class.
  • Early Childhood Screening

    The best age for screening is 3, but we welcome 4 and 5 year olds that have not been screened as well. Use this link to schedule your child's appointment with us. Transportation available upon request. If your child needs their Early Childhood Screening completed in Spanish, please call 507-301-8957. To cancel your child's screening appointment at any time, please call 507-645-1200.

    Registration for September 2026-August 2027 will open online March 5th, 2026 at 8:00 am. Early Ventures strives to provide high quality care in a safe, nurturing learning environment that fosters the physical, social, emotional, and academic development of each child. The Early Ventures preschool rooms have been awarded four stars, the highest possible rating through Parent Aware. Program Options Infants (6 weeks-approximately 16 months) Toddlers (approximately 16 months-36 months) Preschool (approximately 36 months-kindergarten entrance) Days and Hours of Operation September-August (closed most Federal holidays, 2 days before summer, and 1 week before the start of the school year) 6:30 am - 5:30 pm Rates for September 2026-August 2027 Infant (Caterpillar Room) Toddler (Bee and Ladybug Rooms) *Preschool (Firefly and Butterfly Rooms 2 Day (TTH) $90/Day $83/Day $81/Day 3 Day (MWF) $85/Day $76/Day $73/Day 4 Day (Flexible) $79/Day $71/Day $69/Day 5 Day (M-F) $73/Day $66/Day $64/Day *Children in the Firefly Room (2 years before K) that are not yet potty trained will be be charged that toddler rate that corresponds with their schedule.   • Hand in Hand Preschool

    '26-27 Registration is open! Call to set up a tour! Why should your family choose Hand in Hand Preschool? We help prepare students for school success! We have a team of licensed teachers and support staff who make early childhood their priority. We have co-taught classrooms with smaller class limits, bilingual staff, and consultation with district speech, social work, physical and occupational therapists on a daily basis. Our classrooms are integrated, meaning we serve all children with many different backgrounds, abilities and interests. Hand in Hand uses district-aligned curriculum and assessment that is research based and child focused. Our program has strong partnerships with local schools, colleges, Early Learning Corps, local care centers, the Northfield Library and more! There is also financial assistance, transportation and extended day for our 5 full day students available. 2026-2027 Hand in Hand Rates: (*Unless receiving a scholarship) **$60 registration fee holds your spot 2 day am classes: $179 per month 3 day am or pm classes: $249 per month 4 day pm classes: $325 per month 5 day am class: $409 per month 5 day full day class: $965 per month **NEW! 2 day full day class: $479 per month *Extended day is offered for 5 full day classes from 7:45-9:00 ($93.75 per month) and 3:45-4:45 ($93.75 per month) unless receiving scholarship and $40 per month for before class and $40 per month for after class for the 2 full day class. Monthly transportation fees are $50 for 2 days, $63 for 3 days, $74 for 4 days or $86 for 5 days unless receiving scholarship **There will also be a yearly snack/milk fee. Classes start September 14th and follow the K-12 school calendar. AM classes run 9-11:45 am, PM classes run 1-3:45 pm and All-day classes run M,T,TH,F 9-3:45 and W 9:45-3:45. Each week on Wednesday AM classes run 9:45-12:00 and PM classes run 1:15-3:45 pm for Professional Learning Communities (PLC's).

  • Kid Ventures

    Registration for the 2026-2027 school year opens online on April 3rd at 8 am. Thank you for your interest in the Kid Ventures program. By submitting a registration, you are creating a pending contract. Contracts must be approved in order to be considered officially registered. You will receive a confirmation email once your contract has been approved or you will receive notification that you have been placed on the waitlist. There is a $35/child registration fee if registering before April 30th, 2026. The registration fee increases to $45/child if registering after April 30th, 2026. 2026-2027 School Year Rates Children must be registered for a minimum of 2 days per week, unless only registering for Wednesday mornings before school. Registrations are approved on a first come, first served basis. Registration will remain open until August 1st OR we reach our staffing capacity, whichever comes first. Registrations received after August 1st or after we reach capacity will be placed on the wait list. Before School $9.25/Day Drop-In: $11.25/Day After School $14.25/Day Drop-In: $16.75/Day 1 Hour ONLY Late Start Wednesday $3.00/Day Non-School Day $51.50/Day Drop-In: $61.50/Day *Drop-Ins are ONLY for children with an established KV contract (Ex. child attends T/Th afternoons and needs to add a random Wed). Drop-Ins will be approved as space and staffing allow. There is NOT a drop-in only contract. Registration for Summer 2026 opened online on March 5th. The summer program will be located at Spring Creek and will run M-F from Monday, June 15th-Friday, Wednesday, August 26th. KV will be closed June 19th, and July 3rd. Hours are 6:30 am-6:00 pm. There is a $30/child registration fee if registering before Friday, March 20th. The registration fee increases to $40/child if registering after March 20th, 2026. Kid Ventures is a school-age care program operated through Community Education with Northfield Public Schools. The mission of Kid Ventures is to provide care for school-age children in a safe, enriching environment that supports the individual needs of children and families while building positive relationships. Throughout Kid Ventures, children will participate in a variety of hands-on activities that build social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Kid Ventures is offered at all elementary schools from 6:30 am- school start and until 6:00 pm after school ends, Monday through Friday. Kid Ventures is also open at one location in the summer and on most non-school days. Kid Ventures summer registration opens in March and school year registration opens in April.
