  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

    ECFE is for everyone! The mission of ECFE is to strengthen families and support the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children. Parents are supported through resources and guidance in the development of their child and family, and children birth to kindergarten entrance are exposed to new experiences through purposeful interactions and process oriented learning in our indoor and outdoor classrooms! Discounts available for more than one child in the same class.
  • Early Childhood Screening

    Screening includes vision and hearing, height and weight, immunization review, large and small muscles, thinking, language and communication skills as well as social and emotional development. Screening is completed by an early childhood teacher or nurse and is tailored for your child's age, there is no pass or fail! The best age for screening is 3, but we welcome 4 and 5 year olds that have not been screened as well. Transportation available upon request. If your child needs their Early Childhood Screening completed in Spanish, please call 507-301-8957. To cancel your child's screening appointment at any time, please call 507-645-1200.

    Registration for September 2024-August 2025 will open online for new families on March 7th, 2024 at 8:00 am. Early Ventures is currently WAITLIST only for 2023-2024. Thank you for considering the Early Ventures program at the NCEC. Unfortunately, Early Ventures is currently at its licensed capacity in all classrooms. By submitting a registration, you are registering for the waitlist. We will let you know if anything becomes available to accommodate care. Early Ventures strives to provide high quality care in a safe, nurturing learning environment that fosters the physical, social, emotional, and academic development of each child. The Early Ventures preschool rooms have been awarded four stars, the highest possible rating through Parent Aware.   • Hand in Hand Preschool

    24-25 Registration opens for new families at 8:00 a.m on Thursday, March 7th. We welcome you to our open house that evening from 5:45-6:45 pm! Why should your family choose Hand in Hand Preschool? We help prepare students for school success! We have a team of licensed teachers and support staff who make early childhood their priority. We have co-taught classrooms with smaller class limits, bilingual staff, and consultation with district speech, social work, physical and occupational therapists on a daily basis. Our classrooms are integrated, meaning we serve all children with many different backgrounds, abilities and interests. Hand in Hand uses district-aligned curriculum and assessment that is research based and child focused. Our program has strong partnerships with local schools, colleges, AmeriCorps, local care centers, the Northfield Library and more! There is also financial assistance, transportation and extended day for our 5 full day students available. 2024-2025 Hand in Hand Rates: (*Unless receiving a scholarship) 2 day am classes: $160 per month 3 day am and pm classes: $225 per month 4 day pm classes: $295 per month 5 day am class: $370 per month 5 day full day class: $875 per month Monthly transportation fees are $46 for 2 days, $58 for 3 days, $68 for 4 days or $79 for 5 days unless receiving scholarship **There will also be a yearly snack/milk fee. Class follow the K-12 school calendar. AM classes run 9-11:45 am, PM classes run 1-3:45 pm and All-day classes run M-F 9-3:45. Each week on Wednesday AM classes run 9:45-12:00 and PM classes run 1:15-3:45 pm for Professional Learning Communities (PLC's).

  • Kid Ventures

    Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens April 5th at 8 am. Registration for Summer 2024 will open online on March 7th at 8:00 am. The summer program will be located at Spring Creek and will run M-F from Tuesday, June 11th-Wednesday, August 21st. KV will be closed Wednesday, June 19th, Thursday, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th. Hours are 6:30 am-6:00 pm. Kid Ventures is currently WAITLIST only for the 2023-2024 school year. Thank you for considering the Kid Ventures program at Bridgewater, Greenvale Park, or Spring Creek. Unfortunately, Kid Ventures is currently at its staffing capacity at all three locations. By submitting a registration, you are registering for the waitlist. We will let you know if anything becomes available to accommodate care. Kid Ventures is a school-age care program operated through Community Education with Northfield Public Schools. The mission of Kid Ventures is to provide care for school-age children in a safe, enriching environment that supports the individual needs of children and families while building positive relationships. Throughout Kid Ventures, children will participate in a variety of hands-on activities that build social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Kid Ventures is offered at all elementary schools from 6:30 am- school start and until 6:00 pm after school ends, Monday through Friday. Kid Ventures is also open at one location in the summer and on most non-school days. Kid Ventures summer registration opens in March and school year registration opens in April.
