ECFE is a statewide program that provides parent/child classes to all families with children birth to kindergarten. Classes are designed for your child's development and to support you as parents and caregivers.
Early Childhood Screening is FREE and provides general information about your child's growth and development, identify possible health or learning concerns, and connect you with community resources and programs
Early Ventures Learning Center is a Minnesota Department of Human Services licensed childcare center for children ages 6 weeks until kindergarten entrance located at the Northfield Community Education Center.
We offer classes for children ages 3-5 with morning, afternoon and all-day options to attend 2,3,4 or 5 days per week. We are 4 star rated from the state of Minnesota!
Kid Ventures is a school-age care program through Northfield Public Schools Community Education. Kid Ventures operates before and after school, during the summer, and on most non-school days. Kid Ventures is currently WAITLIST ONLY.

Classes for students in K-5
Basketball, Flag Football, Tennis, Soccer, Lacrosse, Skating and more for students Pre-K to 12th grade.
Refresh or gain the skills and certification necessary to apply first aid, administer CPR, use and AED, and perform lifesaving techniques.
Registration for September 2024-August 2025 opened online for new families on March 7th, 2024 at 8:00 am.
Early Ventures is currently WAITLIST only for 2024-2025. Thank you for considering the Early Ventures program at the NCEC. Unfortunately, Early Ventures is currently at its licensed capacity in all classrooms. By submitting a registration, you are registering for the waitlist. We will let you know if anything becomes available to accommodate care.
Early Ventures strives to provide high quality care in a safe, nurturing learning environment that fosters the physical, social, emotional, and academic development of each child. The Early Ventures preschool rooms have been awarded four stars, the highest possible rating through Parent Aware.

Rates for September 2024-August 2025
*Children in the Firefly Room (2 years before K) that are not yet potty trained will be be charged that toddler rate that corresponds with their schedule. Children in the Butterfly Room (1 year before K) must be fully potty trained.
Early Ventures requires one month written notice for any schedule changes or withdrawal from the program.
