ECFE is a statewide program that provides parent/child classes to all families with children birth to kindergarten. Classes are designed for your child's development and to support you as parents and caregivers.
Screening is free and includes a quick check your child's health and development. Screening is completed by an Early Childhood Professional and is tailored for your child's age, there is no pass or fail!
Early Ventures Learning Center is a Minnesota Department of Human Services licensed childcare center for children ages 6 weeks until kindergarten entrance located at the Northfield Community Education Center.
We offer classes for children ages 3-5 with morning, afternoon and all-day options to attend 2,3,4 or 5 days per week. We are 4 star rated from the state of Minnesota!
Kid Ventures is a school-age care program through Northfield Public Schools Community Education. Kid Ventures operates before and after school, during the summer, and on most non-school days.

Day Camp 1: Tuesday, June 23: Dakota County 4-H Goes Under the Big Top:
Meet us Under the Big Top to learn circus skills like juggling and stilt walking, play carnival games and win prizes. Enjoy circus snacks like cotton candy! A full day of activities will keep your child entertained with guest presenters and more. Camp specifics will be emailed to registered participants prior to camp. Day Camp 2: Wednesday, June 24: Dakota County 4-H Color Me Crazy Camp
Get ready for a day bursting with color, creativity, and crazy fun! At Color Me Crazy Day Camp, campers will splash into hands-on activities, colorful games, and creative projects that let their imagination run wild. Expect bright challenges, messy moments, and lots of laughter as we explore art, movement, and teamwork—all in a vibrant, high-energy environment. Learn about all of nature’s superheroes through guest presenters, games, and activities. The animals and plants around us almost seem to have superpowers based on their real-life super abilities. Dakota County 4-H is part of the University of Minnesota’s Extension Youth Development program. Registering for camp will include enrollment in 4-H, for liability purposes, with no other commitments or fees beyond the event.
