These camps have reached capacity. St. Olaf Swim Camp celebrates its 42nd year! Led by renowned head coach Bob Hauck ’87, St. Olaf Swim Camps offer two specialized camps each session: Stroke Technique and High Performance. Geared toward middle and high schoolers who have been swimming competitively in a club or high school program, both camps teach skill development, provide detailed video analysis, improve strength and flexibility through dry-land exercises, and promote overall nutrition and wellness. Swim training is complemented by signature St. Olaf community-building activities around campus. On the final day, parents and families are invited to the Hill for the final swim exhibition. The program begins at 12 pm on Sunday, and ends on Thursday at 4 pm. Stroke Technique Camp is a systematic teaching approach that gives swimmers in this camp an understanding of stroke development as well as repetitive skill rehearsal throughout the week. Attention also is paid to starts, turns, and streamlining. Swimmers work on core-body exercises to increase body strength and flexibility through a variety of dry-land exercises. Classroom activities include current video instruction from world-class swimmers and coaches, plus individual video review and analysis throughout the week. Group sessions cover topics ranging from nutrition and goal setting to team-building exercises and race/training strategies. More information will be available in your email confirmation and from St. Olaf prior to the camp.
