  • 6th Grade Cross Country Team

    Does your 6th grader need an after-school activity and want to have fun? Have them join the 6th grade boys’ and girls’ cross-country team this fall. Your 6th grader will enjoy the endorphins of the sport through activities that include trail running, endurance running, and fun games. All levels of running experience are welcome to join. The 6th grade team will also participate in a 2-3 meets throughout the season. Practice will take place after school at the middle school. Transportation to meets will need to be provided by parents. Some families feel that 3 lessons max are sufficient, while others spend an entire summer taking private lessons. If in doubt, schedule one or two lessons with McKenzie and talk with her about what the goals are for the child/adult. Her opinion may be beneficial to how you'd like to structure private lessons this summer. Lessons cannot be scheduled less than 24 hours out. Please cancel within 24 hours to receive a refund, or to be given the opportunity to reschedule. If extenuating circumstances occur, and you cannot make it to your scheduled lessons, please call McKenzie at least 3 hours before your lesson (phone number available on Calendly).   • Boys & Girls Bowling

    The Northfield United States Bowling Association (USBC) is a non profit organization designed to introduce youth to bowling. Meet other kids, gets some exercise, have fun, participate in scholarship tournaments, and prepare for the Raider High School Bowling team. All enrolled youth bowlers will receive some college scholarship monies for EVERY game they bowl during league deposited into a SMART account for future education. No experience or equipment is required. The Pro’s behind the counter will help with coaching and technique if you need it as time allows for them. As skills improve, youth bowlers will experience a sense of accomplishment and enjoy the satisfaction of increased confidence and for having mastered a new game! Please note that league starts at 4pm and ends at approximately 5:30pm – time dependent on number of bowlers, pace of bowlers, etc. While there are staff at the bowling alley at all times, they are not directly supervising the bowlers. $110 first session of participation in membership year (includes USBC sanction card).   • Boys & Girls Flag Football

    Note: The days listed in the brochure are incorrect. This camp runs Mondays and Thursdays. Touchdowns, trick plays, high fives, and camaraderie. Elements like these are woven into the fabric of our flag football program and continue to drive strong participation from both players and coaches each year. Your child will acquire foundational training in football fundamentals, drills, and game plays. Caring college and high school players lead with passion and purpose, serving as positive role models and making a meaningful impact through their coaching. A dedicated all-girls team is being introduced as a new option for participants this season. Girls will compete on their own team against other boys or co-ed teams in the program. Players will practice and play games on assigned teams. All team assignments, schedules, T-shirts, mouth guards and information will be available for pick-up on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Northfield Community Education Center (700 Lincoln Parkway). Second and third grades should arrive between 6:15 - 7 pm. Fourth and fifth grades should arrive between 7 - 7:45 p.m. Note: Siblings playing at the same time will not intentionally be put on the same team unless requested.
  • Champion Force Cheerleading

    We offer a fun and exciting cheer program for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level students. We focus on the fundamentals of cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, and dance routines. Each class learns at least one full routine and will showcase their skills for parents and at competitions. Classes are available for all ages, and no experience is necessary for Recreation Levels. Champion Force Athletics is dedicated to empowering all kids with strength, confidence, and self-esteem. All classes are taught by certified coaches.
  • Fall Football Sideline Cheer

    Are you a student in grades 8 - 12, and want to cheer on your NHS football team this fall? If so, come join Fall Football Sideline Cheer! We hold weekly practices, cheer and stunt on the sidelines of home and away football games throughout the season. You will need to purchase white cheer shoes (prices vary - parents order), a t-shirt for the games (we have these made), and a cheer warm up jacket (purchased through Varsity for the cold weather games). The estimated cost of those items is between $150-$200. Participants will also need to purchase a uniform (through Varsity for an additional $180-$250). These uniforms, owned by the participant, will be used for multiple seasons. Coach Laurie will have more information about these details at the fall informational meeting on MAY 15th at 3:30 in the lower cafeteria of the high school. We will have 2 "get to know the team" practices on Mon July 7 from 5-6:00 pm and Thurs July 10th from 3:30-4:30pm. REGULAR SEASON PRACTICE’S START THE WEEK OF JULY I4TH. They will be Mondays 5-6:30 and Thursday’s 3:30-5:30 until school starts. When school starts, they are on Monday’s 5-7 pm and Thursday’s 3:30-5:30 pm.     For ages 6 - 12 Designed to introduce the young athlete to the sport of flag football through skill development and small group games, Sports Unlimited staff will focus on helping campers learn the rules of flag football, while working on team play and sportsmanship.
  • Golf Squad

    Golf Squad is an afterschool program connecting local Golf Professionals to your school for a once-a-week lesson. Golf Squad Professionals focus on teaching the fundamentals of the game including putting, chipping, full swing irons, and full swing woods. Participants will also learn relationship building, proper etiquette, rules of the game, and valuable life lessons, aiding in their development. Students will receive a book and a hat. Meet in the gym for the start of each class.
  • Northfield Skating School

    The Northfield Skating School (NSS) encourages participation, enjoyment and achievement in skating by fostering a positive, challenging and inclusive learning environment. NSS is an official Learn to Skate USA program, endorsed by US Figure Skating, USA Hockey and US Speedskating, where you'll build skills and confidence for skating and for life. Skaters receive a weekly lesson and an open skate punch card for practices. Class assignments will be distributed at parent meeting. NSS reserves the right to cancel, combine, or adjust classes based on registration and does not pro-rate. Basic 1-6 (ages 6+) Learn all fundamentals of the sport including forward and backward skating techniques, stops, turns, & edges. The Basic levels prepare skaters with the basic knowledge to enable advancement into specialized areas of skating. Skaters who complete Basic 6 enter Pre-Freeskate. Specialized classes are typically open to skaters Basic 4+ or Basic 5+. Adult 1- 4 (age 18+) Designed to promote overall fitness, improving balance and coordination while mastering skating basics.     Acquire basic tennis technique or enhance your current skills with private tennis lessons this summer! - Instructor Carter Borovsky is a current high school varsity tennis player. He has been playing tennis his entire life, and has played competitively as a varsity player for three years. He is currently the number one varsity player for the Northfield Raiders. Private one-hour lessons are held at either the Northfield Middle School or Northfield High School tennis courts, depending upon availability. Carter will reach out to you with the specific location of the lesson once scheduled. Carter is eager to work with players of all abilities and help improve your game. - Instructor Hailey Reuvers is currently a collegiate tennis player at The University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She played varsity tennis for 7 years at Faribault High School where she was at the One Doubles position for three seasons. Hailey has coached youth tennis for four summers, and have also helped coach high school players during the summer.   • Track & Field Sampler

    Get on track this fall and try out the fun running and field events the sport of track and field has to offer. Participate in short sprints, middle distance running, relays, and field events including hurdles, shot put, and long jump. Increase muscle, coordination, agility, and speed. Practice the art of persevering, learn to work as a team, and acquire tools for encouraging others. A mini track meet will take place on the last day of the program.

    By utilizing equipment, court dimensions, and scoring that is tailored to age and size, coaches will use the QuickStart Tennis play format to help your child find success at their particular level.
