  • Adult Softball League

    Please contact Melissa Bernhard at MBernhard@northfieldschools.org or 507-664-3502 for registration information. No online registration is available. Team registration form and payment are due April 12. Cost is $645 for women's and men's teams, and $595 for co-rec teams. Games begin the first week in May if fields are ready. There will be a regular season, followed by a tournament for all leagues. DO NOT REGISTER ONLINE.   • Aqua Fit

    Aqua Fit is a low impact but high intensity water aerobics class where no swimming skills are needed. This class is designed to improve flexibility, range of motion, strength, muscle tone, and cardiovascular endurance while using the resistance of the water to cushion the feet, knees, and back. Exercises are performed to music, and are effective and easy to follow. Drop-in available for $25/time Please wear proper swimming attire, and bring a clean towel and a water bottle.

    Are you ready to take your pickleball skills to the next level and dominate the court like a pro? Attack Like a Pro is a pickleball class designed for players who want to refine their offensive strategy, sharpen their shot selection, and master the art of controlled aggression. Led by David Dutrieuille a highly accomplished professional coach with a 5.5 DUPR, who has trained some of Pickleball's top touring professionals. This class will give you the tools to attack with precision, confidence, and consistency.

    Get ready to move, strengthen, and sculpt! This challenging and energizing workout combines elements of yoga, Pilates & ballet movement for full body strength. Build strength, improve balance, and leave feeling empowered! Wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one.
  • Foundations of Yoga

    How do we build a yoga practice that improves strength, enhances postural awareness, and decreases pain? Using somatic principles & modifications to accommodate different bodies, you will develop a practice that fits you. Ages 12-16 years are welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Beginner friendly! Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, if you have one.
  • Gumdo Korean Sword - Adult

    Develop fitness, focus, and coordination through Haidong Gumdo, the Korean art of the sword. Using the two-handed longsword, students will learn forms, drills and cutting exercises based on battlefield tactics. This is a non-contact, low-impact, fast-paced martial art. This class runs concurrently with the youth class. There is a $20 fee for the practice sword, payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Uniform and testing fees are additional.
  • Hope 4 Us: An Intergenerational Adventure Club

    Embark on a unique journey of adventure through all four of Minnesota's inspiring seasons. Our empowering and exciting program for students in grades K - 12 is inviting you to immerse yourself in the benefits of the outdoors while building meaningful relationships with youth. Whether you have skills to share, a desire to experience an adventure at your own pace, or simply want get out in the fresh air and encourage youth from the sidelines, all abilities and experience levels are encouraged to partake! Each month, the program will feature a new outdoor activity, ranging from paddling and biking to fishing and archery, all leading up to an optional adventure race. The program will run at no-cost to you! After indicating interest by May 15, you'll receive an email with details on each monthly adventure, and instructions on how to sign up for the ones that interest you. Transportation provided via mini coach bus. Step outside, connect with the community, and enjoy the thrill of outdoor adventure!
  • Knightcrawlers Masters Swim Club

    This program provides workouts, expertly crafted to enhance swimming skills and endurance. Swimmers are placed in lanes according to ability. The top group will swim around 3,000 yards, and the bottom group around 1,600-2,200. Swimmers are by no means required to follow workouts exactly, as long as the flow of a lane is not interrupted. Workouts are led by Coach Kevin O'Brien. Kevin has been involved in competitive swimming for over 28 years, coaching for 14 of them. He was the Head Coach for the Red Wing High School Girls and Boys teams for 7 years, and has been coaching with the Knightcrawlers for 5. Enter the school at door number 3 (East Pool Entrance)
  • Kyudo

    Kyudo, Japanese longbow archery, has a long tradition in Japanese history in both militaristic and ceremonial venues. Today's Kyudo is a non-competitive, introspective process to shooting that helps to focus one's mind and body on the simple act of shooting a bow. Parent participation is required for those under fifteen years old. Visit www.mnkyudo.org for more details about kyudo and the instructors. There is a membership fee into the Minnesota Kyudo Renmei when shooting begins. Practice bows ($25) are also for sale - they are optional, but recommended. Loaner equipment is provided for most adults. This session is not for beginners.
  • Lynch Pickleball Camp - Beginner

    You’ll love pickleball! America’s fastest growing sport is fun and easy to learn. It’s played on a shortened tennis court with a paddle and plastic balls and combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Come and meet new people or bring a friend. Led by an experienced Professional. Wear court shoes and bring Water bottle and pickleball paddle. We will have a few paddles for use. Beginner Pickleball: You’ll learn the rules, scoring and how to play with fun lessons and drills. We’ll match you up with a partner of like ability to practice the various skills and to play a match in a low key fun environment.
  • Lynch Pickleball Camp - Intermediate Beginners

    This class is for the person who has taken a beginner class and is ready to take their game to the next level. Improve your skills and meet new people of like ability with round robin play. We'll start with a warm up and then get things rolling with some fun games. No need to bring a partner as everyone will rotate around. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing and bring a paddle, water bottle, and folding chair for breaks.

Building on the basics, this class will help you refine your technique, expand your vocabulary, and add flair to your movements. Whether you want to add more spins to your Swing, sharpen your Merengue, add some stylish footwork to your Cha Cha, or master the drama of Tango, this class is designed to challenge and inspire dancers who are ready to explore more advanced steps and musicality.
  • Northfield Park Showdown

    Embark on an adrenaline-pumping adventure through Northfield’s city parks, where quick thinking, teamwork, and determination will guide you to team triumph! You will decipher clues, navigate hidden checkpoints, and conquer exciting challenges—all while racing against other teams at the same time! The race will conclude at Ames Park where you will celebrate by taking on the NinjaAnywhere course, and enjoying the First Responder Community Picnic. This is your chance to turn Northfield into your adventure playground. Whether you’re in it to win or just out for the thrill, this race will create lasting memories and epic stories to tell. Important to Note! 1. You must have a vehicle to transport your team to and from Northfield City Parks. 2. Please arrive to XXXX Park at 5:30 pm to receive race information and equipment. 3. Race instructions will be given at 5:50 pm 4. The race will begin at 6 pm. 5. You must keep an orderly record of the parks you've visited. 6. No cell phones will be needed. 7. Text 612-282-3069 during the race with questions. 8. Northfield Community Education and the City of Northfield are not responsible for any injury or accident occurring from the race. The QR codes are placed with safety in mind. Please closely monitor young children on your team to maintain an injury free, successful race. 9. Come prepared with tennis shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and snacks. 10. The race will not require anyone to climb or dig.   • Pickleball League

    Join our summer six-week adult pickleball mixed doubles ladder league! Elevate your game, form dynamic partnerships, and climb the ladder to victory. With weekly matches, friendly competition, and social camaraderie, it's the perfect blend of exercise and fun for players of all skill levels. Starting in a position on the ladder (a rung), you and your partner (male or female) will play games against other duos, and will move up and down the ladder in a 'bump' style, based on wins and losses. This challenge match format organizes teams with comparable skill levels to face each other more frequently, enhancing the competitive aspect. The team registration form and fee of $60/team is due to the Community Education office (700 Lincoln Parkway) by Tuesday, June 17.   • Private Swim Lessons - 30 Minute Lesson

    Private swimming lessons are available for anyone regardless of age or ability. Lessons are generally held at the Northfield Memorial Outdoor Pool, Monday - Friday from June 9 - August 2 (11:30 am - 8 pm) & August 3 - 8 (11:30 - 6 pm). Weekend lessons are available from June 14 - Aug. 2 (12 pm - 8 pm) & Aug. 9-10 (12 pm - 6 pm). Other people may be in the pool as the private lessons take place. To schedule a private lesson/s please pay for the number of lessons you intend to have. Following payment, you will receive an email confirmation which will include a link that will direct you to our Calendly appointment calendar where you will be able to view instructors and their specific availability. You may then select your instructor and choose time slots, up to the number of lessons that have ALREADY been paid. If and when you'd like additional lessons, you MUST register and pay again, prior to blocking out slots on the google appointment calendar. $20/half hour. Children in the SAME family who are about the same swim level may take the lesson together for the cost of one. A maximum of three children are allowed in each lesson, although one or two is the recommended number for maximum productivity. There is no recommended number of lessons or schedule of lessons. Every person may choose the number of lessons desired and a schedule that works best to meet each specific need. Some families feel that 3 lessons max are sufficient, while others spend an entire summer taking private lessons. Some take lessons and random days, while others block out a couple weeks M - F, and others choose the same day each week for 4 - 8 weeks. If in doubt, schedule one or two lessons with an instructor and talk with them about what the goals are for the child/adult. Their opinion may be beneficial to how you'd like to structure private lessons this summer. Lessons cannot be scheduled less than 24 hours out. Please cancel within 24 hours to receive a refund, or to be given the opportunity to reschedule. If extenuating circumstances occur, and you cannot make it to your scheduled lessons, please call your instructor at least 3 hours before your lesson. No shows will result in a forfeit of the lesson cost. You may contact your instructor directly to reschedule lessons. Instructors will connect with you directly should there be a cancellation due to weather. They will work with you to schedule a make-up, or a refund will be provided if they are unable to accommodate.
  • River Bend Paddle

    Glide along the Cannon River Reservoir in a canoe or kayak, and let the ripples of the water carry you to a new state of mind. After instruction and safety protocol provided by River Bend staff, you will launch out onto the water and begin your paddling experience. Cruise the reservoir with very minimal current as you practice your strokes and float along, engulfed by beautiful North and South Alexander Park. By the time you flow into shore, you will have gained a deeper understanding of how to maneuver watercraft, and will have the confidence to launch out on your own. One staff member will be positioned on the water in a kayak for any support needed. All equipment provided, including lifejackets. The class is for any skill level. You will find a waiver form in your confirmation email. Please print, sign, and bring it with you to class.
