    Embark on a unique journey of adventure through all four of Minnesota's inspiring seasons with our empowering program for students in grades K - 12. Immerse yourself in the outdoors while building meaningful relationships with youth. Whether you want to share skills, experience adventures at your own pace, or support from the sidelines, all abilities are welcome. Each month features one outdoor activity, from paddling and biking to fishing and archery, leading up to an optional adventure race. After registering, you'll receive an email within two weeks on how to sign up for the monthly adventures of interest. Transportation provided via mini coach bus. Step outside, connect with the community, and enjoy the thrill of outdoor adventure!
  • Fall Football Sideline Cheer

    Come cheer on your 2026 NHS Raiders Football team! Open to all 8th to 12th graders. We will have a Informational meeting on April 2 (Thursday) from 3:30- 4:30 in the high school cafe. We will have our first practice MONDAY JULY 20 from 5 to 7pm at the high school. NOTE- Cheer practices are Mondays 5 to 7pm and Thursdays 3:30- 5:30pm and we cheer ALL football games throughout fall season which can go through end of November. - Register by August 3rd to cheer for fall. - Uniforms need to be ordered within the first week of practice, from Varsity. The price is $240-$285, depending on whether you purchase the maroon and black under armor that goes with it. You may use a long sleeve v neck maroon/black shirt instead. Coach Laurie will email you the uniform link once you register, and will explain how to enter the size info. Once sizes are entered, Laurie will email you another link for collecting the uniform fee. After you purchase the uniform, you may use it for any season you cheer for (fall and winter). If you need to purchase a uniform after the deadline, you still can, it just won't be available for the first few games, however we do have uniforms that you can borrow (different design), until yours arrives. - You will need "white cheer shoes" that can be purchased on Varsity, Amazon, Omni Cheer, Cheerzone etc. You don't need to buy new white cheer shoes if you already have them. - You will also need to purchase a warm up jacket (dont need to if you have one from a previous year).- You may purchase pom poms from Varsity as your ordering the uniform IF you want but you don't have to. We do have ones you can use for the season and give back.   • Basketball Workout - Private Lessons w/David

    Improve aspects of your game in a one-on-one or group setting. $54/individual, $45/person for a group up to 5, $36/person for a group of 6 or more. David Foley - To schedule a private lesson/s with David, choose from one of the dates listed online, and register/pay. - 14 years of collegiate coaching experience, including 8 years as an NCAA Division III head coach - Former college basketball player PLEASE NOTE! If the child you are registering is participating in a group lesson, please list the other participant name/s in the slots provided at the time of registration. If you need to register another sibling for the same slot as the current child you are registering, please do so, and they will be added to the waitlist, and your card will be charged internally. If you are registering your child for a group lesson, and another person from your group has already registered, please register and your child will be put on a waitlist, and then your card will be charged internally. There is no recommended number of lessons or schedule of lessons. Every person may choose the number of lessons desired and a schedule that works best to meet each specific need. Some families feel that 3 lessons max are sufficient, while others spend an entire year taking private lessons. If in doubt, schedule one or two lessons with the instructor and talk with them about what the goals are for the child/adult. Their opinion may be beneficial to how you'd like to structure your private lessons. Lessons cannot be scheduled less than 24 hours out. Please cancel within 24 hours to receive a refund, or to be given the opportunity to reschedule.   • Shorin-Ryu Karate

    Please note Saturday time is incorrect in print brochure. Saturday class is from 9 - 10 (all ranks) and from 10 - 11 am (advanced belts) Ueshiro Shorin Ryu is an ancient and practical style of Karate originating in Okinawa, Japan. Adults of all ages, and kids 8 and up, train together on the deck to build strength and self-confidence without sparring or competitions. Newer students learn by modeling more advanced students and progress at their own pace. Every class includes warmups, basic moves, kata (choreographed sequences) and targeted exercises focused on flexibility, balance and control. Mastery comes through repetition. Students are encouraged to attend 2 of the 3 classes a week as schedules allow. Beginners are welcome and attend in gym clothes until their first test, which requires a white uniform and testing fees. Karate is great for families, and parents are strongly encouraged to train alongside kids under 15.     No class June 30 - July 1 This t-ball program will encourage teamwork, confidence, focus, and will develop basic t-ball fundamentals. Participants will hit off of a tee. The program includes three practices per week, and a handful of in-house scrimmages. Great staff to student ratios, fun practices, and end of season contests make this program a home run. Tentative activities include a water and picture day, and a pitch, hit, and run competition. Please bring your own helmet if you do not desire to share the ones provided.     Designed for all athletic abilities and interests, this program is both recreational and challenging. Your child will achieve an athletic edge through their participation in short sprints, middle distance running, obstacle courses, and field events, including hurdles, shot put, and long jump. The program includes an Olympic day, a water day, a trail running outing, and run-for-fun meets.

  • Northfield Hiliners Dance Team Summer Skill Training

    Join the Hiliners coaching team as they build dancer skills in both Kick and Jazz dance styles. This is the dancer's opportunity to gain flexibility, precision, strength, and stamina that will prove useful during the competitive season. Not currently a Hiliner? You can still participate in this class. Dancers bring to each session: a water bottle, jazz shoes, and athletic shoes. Dancers should wear athletic or dance clothing that fits closer to the body: good support sports bra, spandex shorts, and tank tops or tees (tights are optional).
  • Football Camp: Incoming 10th - 12th Grade

    Don't miss the 2026 summer camp for high school players! Athletes will work on specific football skills based on positions. Team offensive and defensive schemes, as well as group work, will also be a focus of the camp. Pads will be handed out prior to the first practice on June 15th, and may be used for other summer camps. $1 of the registration fee goes toward the rental of the helmet and shoulder pads.     Raider Speed & Strength is designed to improve athletic performance and/or general health by providing quality training programs, teaching proper exercise technique, and promoting weight room safety/etiquette.   • USTA Junior Team Tennis

    This program is for athletes who are fairly consistent when hitting medium paced shots, can sustain a rally, serve with consistency, and includes veteran coaching instruction, match play, and travel. You will work on stroke development, competitive match strategy, developing an individual game plan, and footwork. Drills, games, match play and strategy sessions will provide you an opportunity to raise your game level. Emphasis on competitive play for everyone. Please purchase a USTA youth membership, prior to registering with Community Ed. Each camper will be provided a t- shirt.   • Youth Tennis Development

    Rally to one of the finest youth programs in Northfield! Community Education and the Northfield Tennis Association have been working together for years to uphold the strong tradition of tennis in Northfield. Coaches are carefully selected and trained, and are highly skilled, motivational, excellent with kids, and know how to have fun! By utilizing equipment and court dimensions tailored to age and size, coaches will engage participants with innovative and unique training equipment and drills to effectively train youth for the game. Players are strongly encouraged to register for at least two tennis sessions throughout the summer. Contact Beth LaCanne with placement questions (bethlacanne@gmail.com). Beginner: Designed to help develop agility, balance, and coordination, lessons include movement activities, fun instructional drills, recreational games, and will focus on the learning of basic strokes. Various low compression tennis balls are used for each class: Grades K-2 will use Red Ball (75% slower than standard yellow ball), Grades 3-5 will use Orange Ball (50% slower than standard yellow ball) and Grades 6-8 will use Green Ball (25% slower than standard yellow ball). Intermediate: Designed for players who have mastered the basic strokes, lessons will focus on footwork, agility, developing groundstrokes and serves, fun instructional drills, and competitive games.

    Natalie provides private lessons for school-aged children in levels 2 - 6. Natalie has been a member of her high school swim team for the past five years, specializing in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Her years of competitive swimming have given her a strong understanding of stroke technique, endurance, and skill development. While this is Natalie's first year as a swim instructor, she is excited to share her knowledge and passion for swimming. She especially enjoys working with swimmers who are already comfortable in the water and are looking to improve their technique, efficiency, and confidence in the pool. Outside of swimming, Natalie enjoys creating all kinds of art projects and crafts. She looks forward to helping swimmers develop their skills while making lessons both fun and rewarding.     Kasie provides Private Swimming Lessons for children, ages 1-12 yrs old. Kasie is a competitive swimmer who has been involved with both her high school swim team and the Northfield Swim Club. She brings two summers of swim instruction experience and is a certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI). Kasie has taught swimmers ages 1–13, including Waterbabies, Starfish, and Learn-to-Swim Levels 1–6. She enjoys helping young swimmers gain confidence in the water while building strong swimming and water safety skills. Her experience working with a wide range of ages and abilities allows her to create lessons that are both fun and effective. Outside of the pool, Kasie is a member of the Shockwaves Water Ski Show Team in Shakopee, where she participates in show skiing performances throughout the summer. Her passion for aquatic sports and enthusiasm for teaching make her a great fit for swimmers of all skill levels. Swim Lesson Information: $25/half hour.     Mae provides private lessons for Children, Swimming Level 1-6 (Kids Only). Mae has been a competitive swimmer for the past eight years and brings a strong passion for the sport to every lesson. Her favorite events are the 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke, which have helped her develop endurance, technique, and a deep understanding of swimming fundamentals. While this is Mae's first year teaching private lessons through Community Education, she has experience coaching and mentoring younger swimmers on her swim team. Mae enjoys helping swimmers build confidence, improve their skills, and reach their individual goals in the water. Mae welcomes a wide range of ages and abilities. Whether a swimmer is just getting started or looking to refine their technique, she strives to create a positive and encouraging learning environment. Outside of swimming, Mae enjoys playing the guitar, stargazing, and traveling to Dark Sky Certified locations to experience some of the best night skies around the world.
