These classes are designed for continuing students returning from previous Spanish courses, as well as new students with prior Spanish experience. Instruction focuses on building confidence in conversational Spanish while continuing to develop grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and speaking skills. Topics and grammar concepts vary by level and may include present, past, future, perfect, and subjunctive tenses, commands, conversation, literature, travel, culture, media, and everyday communication. Students typically continue into the next level from the previous school year sequence, though students with prior Spanish experience may join the level that best fits their comfort and ability. (ie: students who took Spanish 1 in 2025-26 would proceed with Spanish 2) Textbooks: books are available online through Amazon.com. With 3 weeks notice, textbooks may also be purchased from the instructor for $25. Contact instructor Chris Kauffeld ckauffeld@msn.com to request a textbook. Spanish 2 will use Realidades 1 Spanish 4 & 5 will use Realidades 2 Spanish 6 will use Encuentros Maravillosos From a Spanish student: Chris’s Spanish classes are often the highlight of my week! We gain lots of practical knowledge, sprinkled with humor and fun. The summary emails Chris sends out after each class are useful. If you miss a class, this allows you to keep up with your classmates. Even if you don’t miss a class, the emails often provide links to additional resources for practice.

Children in our lives sometimes exhibit challenging behaviors — from minor to all-consuming. In this class, you'll learn why these behaviors occur and practical, in-the-moment strategies to prevent and respond to them effectively. Walk away with a valuable toolkit of ideas to reduce challenging behaviors, encourage appropriate ones, and better support the children in your life. Onsite childcare is available to families for $10/night/child. Please register your child(ren) in advance.
