    Ready to take your cookie decorating to the next level? This class dives into more detailed royal icing techniques such as flowers, wood grain, and more. All supplies included. Prior experience with royal icing recommended.
  • Basic Obedience: Dog Training

    For dogs 6 months and older. If your dog is younger, please consider the Puppy Training class. This 6-week course will focus on teaching basic behaviors such as sit, down, stay, come, leave it and also loose leash walking. Learn about establishing good daily practices and try fun games to enjoy with your dog in each session. Please bring a 6 ft leash, plenty of soft treats, and baggies to clean up after your dog if needed. No extending (flexi) leashes please. Please indicate your dog's name, age and breed when registering and ensure all necessary dog vaccinations are current. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Class will meet outdoors at the NCEC Athletic Fields. If the weather is poor, we will meet indoors at the NCEC Cafeteria.     Classes will focus on preparing dogs for the steps for each of the ten American Kennel Club exercises needed in order to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test.   • Reactive Dog: Dog Training

    Have you considered not walking your dog anymore because it is so difficult to control them? Do they bark, lunge and growl at other dogs they meet? You are not alone! What you have is a reactive dog. In this class, you will learn how to take your dog from nearly breaking their leash at the sight of another pooch to calmly looking back at you. These are intensive classes that require you do your homework during the week, but they deliver results! For the first day of class only, we will meet dog-free to enable an owner question and answer opportunity. For the remaining 5 class meetings your dog will attend with you.   • The Camino de Santiago in Spain: Plan and Prepare for Your Hike

    Adventure-seeking adults: If you’ve ever dreamed of hiking in a country where rugged mountains meet breathtaking coastlines, ancient trails wind through medieval villages, and every step brings you closer to the terminus of one of the most historic and important pilgrimage routes in Europe, Spain should be at the top of your list. Chris Kauffeld has hiked four different Caminos: the French Way, the Primitive Way, the Silver Way and the Madrid Way. His next Camino will be the Portuguese Camino. Drawing on his experiences on these hikes and from his three years living in Spain, Chris will help you: choose from among the more than 30 Caminos in Spain Plan your daily stages Explain how to prepare for your hike Answer any questions you may have Book your lodging (should you choose not to stay in the public hostels/bunkhouses). Book flights Those that would like to take advantage of this opportunity need to have a Booking.com account before meeting with Chris. Chris is available to personally guide groups of up to four adults that are interested in a guided tour experience. This can be discussed during your consultation with him. Fee includes planning up to 10 stages on the Camino, reserving lodging and booking flights. It is recommended that all participants that book a trip also protect their trip with travel insurance.
